Here's What

1. Of course I am going to talk about Snowpocalyse of Atlanta 2014.

I mean what else has happened this week? But I am going to talk about the positive... Despite the extreme worrying of loved ones on Tuesday- everyone is safe and sound and enjoying family bonding and enough snow to play in. Only one fatality from the effects of the storm (Rest in Peace), but that is shocking, considering the many wrecks and even a car fire. I am glad that schools are closed, and people are starting to get back to normal.  See post about snowmagedon- http://twentysomethinganddazed.blogspot.com/2014/01/snow-pocalypse-2014.html

AHS SPOILER ALERT, I am
going to reveal who the supreme is

2.  And the Supreme is...

We have been waiting all AHS season for this. We have all predicted pretty much everyone as the supreme, hell I got to a point where I thought it was Kyle. But we were right at some point in the season...

As they drop like flies, literally a fly is killed in the finale (don't worry PETA it was brought back to life), we learn that Cordelia is the next supreme!

I mean she deserves it, she stabbed her eye balls out for Petes sake. i am happy AHS: Coven is over, I was sort of bored after episode 6... Season 1 was the best! Season 2 would have been good if they didn't do the whole alien thing... yeah no, that was stupid. So we know who the supreme is. yay!

Snow-pocalypse 2014

Syracuse, NY receives an average of 115.6 inches of snow annually. Residents still commute, schools and government offices stay open. Living in Georgia, snow is a rare precipitation. Heck we even pray for snow to have a "snow day"... well be careful for what you pray for... 2.6 inches of snow swept across Georgia and we shut down.

My college cancelled any class after 1, and the Charter school I worked at had no need for the After School program since all students were released at 12:15. I admired the snow from my back door window. My little brother cam home by 12:40 and was ready to play in the snow, considering he hasn't seen solid white snow, in pretty much never of his 10 years of living. In 2011, we had some snow, but it was slushy and gross, and I wasn't even born yet during the 1993 blizzard, so he was properly excited! My Nana told him to wait until our sister came home, because she would want to get out and play in it as well. My sister, a junior in high school, was due to be home about 1 hour after the elementary school students were dropped off. Around 1 o'clock my sister calls and say "You need to come pick me up, the buses cannot make it to our school" So Nana, Bryson and I trek out to get my sister. We knew the roads were rough, considering the snow and need to drive slow, yet we had no idea what we were getting into.

My sisters school is literally 3 miles from my home. As we pull onto the main street from from neighborhood, we see that this may take a while. After sitting in standstill bouts of traffic we finally made it to her school safely, it only took us 45 minutes though. When we arrive to my sisters school, I see this dumbass (excuse my french) student standing outside in short and a t-shirt... Here i have proof that I am not crazy!
yes I am that person who takes pictures of the less intelligent!

As we head home the roads are clear since everyone in the area is trying to the local schools to pick up their children.
Again, we come to a standstill in traffic- only this time out gas light come on. GREAT! we are no where near a gas station and we realized we left our wallets at the house. I now you usually have 2 gallons of gas once your light comes on, but we are wasting gas as we stay still and rev up the car to get some traction after we have been stopped for a while. We pass several teens walking, who are getting a lot further than we are. We finally turn on the street that leads to our home. We are not really concerned about gas any longer since we are so close to home, i start taking picture of the snowpocolypse. The land was stunning covered in untouched snow, the roads were a pain in the but, and a crossing light was knocked down. I chuckled at the sight of the impatient people in the lines who need to realize the no matter how many times you honk the roads will not become less of a disaster.

Well, 10 minutes pass and we have moved an inch. 20 minutes pass and we are now sitting on the bridge that was 4 inches from where were 10 minutes ago. 40 minutes pass and we have yet to move any closer. As the gas meter slowing moves more and more toward empty, I know I am going to have to walk home, get money and a gas can, walk to the gas station get gas and walk back. I turn on Pandora and let the Red Hot Chili Peppers sing to us as we wait. Finally we get to moving, and it is a steady move until we get the red light and it is blocked by crossing traffic! IS THIS A JOKE? Luckily it is very close to home, so it was one of those so close yet so far feelings.

When we finally make it home, We start to actively watch the news and browse the social media, and realize that Gee! it really is bad out there. as time rolls by the thought of the roads being completely at a standstill with children stranded on buses and at schools made me feel so blessed that I have no one to worry about being out there unsafe and cold. All of my friends and family made it home, to a friends house or to a hotel safely for the night.

There was only one fatality that has been reported. which considering the roads and lack or driving skills in this type of weather is shocking.

It seems crazy when you hear that half of a state shut down after 2 inches of snow, but it is the ice that caused the issues. Our roads are not treated, our tires lack treading, and we have no experience driving in anything other than dry.

This picture Radio 105.7 posted was so true...

Above a scene from Walking Dead of how Downtown Atlanta
looked during the Zombie Apocalypse, below last night, in Atlanta...
And we think we can survive a zombie apocalypse. ha!

CNN and The Today show were all talking about the "snow storm" in Atlanta... even Al Roker had something to say about this!

I have made countless Facebook statuses about what I am thinking as I read social media and watch the news so instead of me retyping it all I am going to link it. And my brother is being obnoxious and will not stop hounding me about playing a game on the laptop. 10 year olds- pain in the butt!!!

My Facebook statuses:
